Lendas is a remote coastal village located 74km south of Heraklion, on the southern slopes of the imposing Asterousia Mountains. It is a tourist resort and port, very mildly developed which provides the opportunity for peaceful and relaxing holidays. The access to Lendas is via the village “Agioi Deka”. This road crosses the wild mountains and descends from an altitude of about 1000m to reach Lenda, on a route that offers breathtaking views of the Libyan Sea and Lenda.
The surrounding area is full of quiet beaches. The beach in front of the village of Lenda is protected from the east from Cape Psamidomouri and from west, from the famous cape “Lion”. It is the busiest beach in the area and organized, offering basic services such as umbrellas, showers, sun beds and water sports. Also, right next to the beach there are many taverns and rooms for accommodation. On this beach, lay their eggs the turtles caretta-caretta, species rare and endangered . If you want to isolate, the nearby beaches “Ditiko” and “Loutra” are very beautiful.
Cape Lion, at the side of Lentas, is a protected archaeological site, where you can go walking and enjoy a beautiful sunset.
