The beach of Falassarna is located about 59 km west of the city of Chania, in the western part of cape Gramvousa.
Falassarna is one of the most famous beaches in Crete and it has been awarded many times. The sand of Falassarna is white, making the beach look tropical. The area around Falassarna is amazing and is a protected Natura region.
The main beach of Falassarna is called Pacheia Ammos with a length of 1km and a width of 150m. There is another long beach north of the main beach having a length of 800m, identical to the main, which is broken into several smaller beaches.
At the northern of the beach you can find the ruins of the ancient Greek city of Falassarna, a very interesting archeological site.
